The Meffy Awards: We Won!
The Meffy Awards— some call them the Oscars of the mobile world. Held annually to honor successes and innovations in the mobile industry, the Meffy’s is an event that brings together influential mobile players from all over the world. This year, the awards attracted entries from over 30 countries, one of them being for Worldreader Mobile, our free reading application.
And guess what? We won in two categories! We’re beyond thrilled.
Worldreader was nominated in three categories: Innovation in Education, Innovation in a Mobile-First Market and for Social Responsibility. The ceremony proved to be a momentous celebration and exceptionally rewarding as we were announced as the winners of The Innovation Award for Mobile-First Market and The Market Award for Social Responsibility.
“Congratulations to Worldreader for their double-win at the Meffys 2015 in the categories Social Responsibility and Mobile First Markets. Worldreader demonstrates mobile’s unique ability to have an impact on the social and economic development of underserved communities often where mobile is the primary digital access point” said Rimma Perelmuter, CEO of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF).
Worldreader’s co-founder, Colin McElwee, attended the event and received the award on behalf of our organization and all of the global readers we serve every day. We are honored to have been recognized for our achievements alongside key influencers in the mobile industry.
Our accomplishments are due in part to our partnerships with industry leaders, many of whom attended the gala and are inspiring innovators in the mobile ecosystem. We couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds and look forward to further leveraging mobile platforms and the increasing opportunities mobile represents for global literacy and education. A big thanks to MEF for the outstanding evening.
