Worldreader’s 2019 Annual Report is Live

Worldreader is proud to share that our 2019 Annual Report is live. 

It might feel strange reading this during the COVID-19 pandemic and the racial-justice protests that are taking place across the globe.

But, I hope you’ll take a moment to celebrate the good that’s happening. Last year, you helped 2.4 million people read. That’s 2.4 million future doctors, lawyers for justice, astronauts, environmental scientists – the very people who will help build a better world for us all.

In the report you’ll see:

• Stories of readers from across the world, like Ms. Sapna, a teacher in India who helps young children develop early literacy skills, and Aisha, a girl from the slums of Ghana, who helps empower girls in her community through stories that inspire.

• Significant milestones you helped us reach in 2019, like helping people read for over 10.5 million hours in 52 languages.

• A peek at our newer initiatives, like our Crecelee Project in Peru, which will support thousands of students inside and outside the classroom, and BookSmart, our newest digital reading solution.

• And reflections on beliefs we’ve had since we started 10 years ago, and why they matter now more than ever.

In hard times and in easy times, our goal remains the same: to help billions of people improve their lives so they can create a better world.
