The Glomo Awards: We Won!
GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards, or Glomo Awards, provide one of the world’s biggest stages for showcasing innovation and greatness in the mobile industry. The awards take place annually and winners are revealed during the Mobile World Congress. This year, the event saw more than 930 entrants – one of them being ours with our partner Opera for our reading application.
And we won!
Worldreader with Opera has won the Best Mobile Innovation for Education award. We are delighted to be sharing this recognition with our friends at Opera, who have helped Worldreader reach more than 17 million readers on their mobile phone!
“Our congratulations to all of the winners and nominees of the GSMA’s Glomo Awards this week of Mobile World Congress,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “In what was a remarkably wide field of more than 930 entrants, narrowed to 170 nominees, it is truly an outstanding achievement to have been selected by our esteemed judging panels. We thank all of our entrants, judges, sponsors and partners for supporting the 21st Glomo Awards.”
Worldreader’s Managing Director, Elizabeth Hensick Wood, and Program Design Manager, Periša Ražnatović, attended the event and received the award alongside Opera’s Operating Manager, Nora Perez, on behalf of our two organizations and all of the global readers that use Worldreader on their mobile phones every day. We are honored to have been recognized for our achievements alongside many key influencers in the mobile industry.
A big thanks to our partner Opera and to GMSA for the outstanding event!
