BookSmart Profiles for Everyone

An account with BookSmart lets parents and caregivers create a more customized experience. Together with your child, you can set goals and track progress.

To create a profile:

  1. Enter your child’s name
  2. Choose an avatar
  3. Give your child’s age range
  4. List your child’s gender (girl, boy, or prefer not to say)
  5. Set up a weekly reading goal for your child

After signing in, you can create multiple profiles for your children. Set reading goals and track progress for each child, whether you’re reading individually or as a group.

Read Together Online

Once creating a profile for your children, caregivers will be asked who’s reading today. Selecting a profile allows BookSmart to track the reading progress of each child and reward them with points!

Choosing to Read Together allows a group to read together while still tracking reading progress for each child.

Fun Learning Activities with Books

BookSmart offers a ton of reading activities for you to spark wonder and creativity in your young reader. Customized for individual stories, these exciting and helpful ideas can be found at the bottom of the page when you first click on a book. They include rhyming games, quizzes, and more. We also have our Reading Buddy to help out!

Readers will collect points for completing tips, activities, and books that will be associated with their profile. These points encourage families to play and challenge each other while reading. Readers also collect individual points when they Read Together. These activities and challenges support the skills and benefits children get from reading, boosting the experience.

Tracking Progress on BookSmart

You can also check their progress when your child completes books and activities. Each child’s progress will be connected with their own profile. BookSmart can even help you set weekly reading goals for each child!
