Let’s Get Children Reading
A Worldreader community grant opportunity to get children reading.
A community of organizations working together to support family reading.
In January 2024, Worldreader opened its second Let’s Get Children Reading Grant opportunity to support community-based organizations, schools, and other learning institutions in engaging children (3-12) and their families to read a minimum of 25 unique books a year. With Worldreader’s free digital reading application, BookSmart, children and their caregivers have the tools to build their reading skills through high-quality books, activities that reinforce reading skills in fun and interactive ways, and celebrations of their success.
We have an ambitious goal of getting 75,000 children ages 3-12 reading through this grant to improve reading comprehension and social-emotional learning. To reach this goal, we seek creative, collaborative partner organizations with these qualities:
We welcome applications from across the United States, but are placing a high priority on organizations in the following states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Oregon, Washington DC, Washington State, and West Virginia.
Worldreader is excited to announce the selection of grantees for the 2024 Let’s Get Children Reading Grant. The 2024 program’s call for applications received a tremendous response and we thank all applicants for submitting strong proposals.
The 2024 Let’s Get Children Reading Grant program will award one-year seed grants valued between $3,000 and $5,000 to the following organizations:
2023 one-year seed grants were awarded to the following 27 organizations.
Current grant recipients that received funding earlier in 2023, may apply for additional funding in February 2024 and should not apply for this cycle of funding.
